LID Helmets is more than just a bike helmet brand - we strive to be a facilitator in enabling more commuters to ride bikes in cities. We’re concerned about the air quality in our cities stemming from emission vehicles and see bike commuting as a natural offset. Riding is also terrific not only for physical health, but mental wellness too.
Following two years of product development, we're launching our 1st model - plico - a space-efficient, folding helmet produced from recycled components. We've designed plico to be foldable, as one of the major hassles for city cyclists is what to do with their helmet when not wearing it - some lock it to their bike, some dangle it from their bag... some, especially bike-share users, either don't wear one, or choose not to cycle altogether. plico addresses this issue.
As we're on a mission to transition society to a more sustainable future, it makes sense that we produce our products accordingly, so we've used recycled components for our helmets and packaging. In time, we aim to source every component in our products and packaging from sustainable materials.
plico is just the start for LID, we have plans for many other products and content, which will enhance the life of the urban cyclist.
